Karolyn Kinane, Ph.D., has been working at the intersection of contemplation and education for two decades, with particular interest in how practices of awareness and connection can enhance values-alignment, accountability, and transparency. Karolyn earned her Ph.D. in English and had been a professor of Medieval English Literature for fifteen years and Associate Director of the Contemplative Sciences Center at the University of Virginia for four years. She is the author and editor of numerous scholarly publications on contemplative pedagogy, chief consultant at Harpsong Consulting, and Co-Founder of Hearth Cville, a place-based spirituality in nature group. Her personal practices include journaling, dialog, dancing, and hatha yoga as well as ritual and journeying within the living tradition of indigenous Irish paganism.
