About me
Currently at STRUCTR Advisors, Sydney applies her knowledge of sustainability and business to provide fresh solutions that embody clients’ sustainability goals. Moreover, Sydney’s passion for environmental stewardship benefits her clients throughout every stage of a building’s development and lifecycle, resulting in a steadfast champion to usher forth building, environment, and human wellness. Her breadth of experience includes 4 million square feet of certified space including involvement in the Brock Environmental Center, a LEED platinum and Living Building Challenge-certified facility. Her experience includes supporting the LEED Silver certification of the Dairy Market, the LEED Gold certification of the North Fork 4 Building, and the LEED Platinum certification of the CODE building.
In addition to her comprehensive consulting experience Sydney is a leader within Virginia’s sustainability community. She serves on the U.S. Green Building Council Virginia’s Market Leadership Advisors Board. Sydney serves as a member of the Board of Directors and advisor on affordable and sustainable housing projects for the Saint Paul's Community Development Corporation. Sydney also serves as a Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Chesapeake Bay Governor's School for Marine and Environmental Sciences Education Foundation. Sydney has also been a guest lecturer at Virginia Wesleyan University, Old Dominion University, William and Mary, Norfolk State University, Virginia Tech, and University of Richmond. Sydney is currently a program facilitator for Virginia Wesleyan University’s Sustainability Program custom designed for the Port of Virginia.
Sydney Covey graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Wesleyan University in 2015 where she earned a B.A. in Business and a B.A. in Environmental Studies. In 2017, Sydney was the recipient of the Virginia Wesleyan University Alumni Council’s Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) Award. Most recently, Sydney was named to the 2022 GreenBiz 30 Under 30 list.
