Founder / Mindfulness, Movement & Meditation Facilitator
About me
Dr. Polina Mischenko is passionate about cultivating appreciation for the interdependence of all beings as a way of promoting inner peace and collective well-being. In the past eight years she has lived her dream researching, developing, directing, and facilitating mindfulness and movement programs for educators and children through the UVa School of Education & Human Development and the Contemplative Sciences Center. During her time there, she directed the Compassionate Schools Project with Charlottesville city schools and facilitated numerous retreats, wellness workshops and yoga sessions for public school teachers and staff.
Presently, Polina is on a new journey to create a magical, welcoming, and inspiring artistic space at her home in Charlottesville that enables authentic and diverse community connections, meaning-making, and the cultivation of loving-kindness through contemplative wisdom and the arts. The project is called Castle Hill Collective. In addition, Polina teaches Iyengar Yoga through private classes and local studios and works as Executive Assistant at Mind & Life Institute.
