Albemarle Ballet Theatre was established in downtown Crozet in 2005 to bring high-quality, affordable dance instruction to dancers of all ages, abilities, and income levels. Located on the second floor of the historic Fruit-Growers Co-op building at the intersection of Crozet Avenue and Three Notch’d Road, ABT is convenient for residents of Western Albemarle, Charlottesville, and Augusta Counties. The mission of this family-owned and operated business is to provide a fun, safe, creative, nurturing environment, and a community for young dancers. Our expert instructors are dedicated to teaching and coaching with care and respect at the highest level of excellence. We encourage and motivate our students to work hard and achieve their best while fostering empowerment and self-confidence. Through nurturing kindness and a holistic environment, we hope to scaffold the development of young people and help them on their journey to becoming exemplary individuals. We believe that dance is for everyone and everybody, and that classes and performance opportunities should be available to anyone who wants to pursue their heart in dance.
Our faculty is composed of dedicated professionals with years of training, performing, and teaching experience. We teach correct technique, musicality, cross-training, anatomy, and artistic expression. We are dedicated to fostering a healthy body image and promoting healthy lifestyle habits to nurture and maintain physical and mental health. We offer mentorship and guidance for our students, oversee independent courses of study in dance, and can help with audition preparation for dance schools, companies, colleges, and universities.
