About me
A leader in global sustainability in the built environment and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), Tom Schuler has more than 30 years of experience in international executive management and technology commercialization.
Schuler's dynamic and entrepreneurial passion fueled his success in the building and construction sector, where Tom was the architect of the DuPont’s Building Innovations business model and leader of two global businesses with revenue in excess of $1 billion.
As CEO of Solidia Technologies - a cement and concrete technology company – Tom collaborated with the world’s leading cement companies to define their decarbonization strategies, growing the company from lab to full commercial scale, becoming the third most active patent filer in the global cement sector.
After leaving Solidia, his experience – and frustration – with connecting CO2 suppliers and users, led to his work with innovators in the CCUS supply chain. Tom works with new technologies to ‘finish the rest of their carbon reduction stories’ by connecting innovative renewable energy, capture, and utilization companies to complete their supply chain and commercialization strategies.
Tom’s combination of corporate and start-up experience provides unique insight into effective decarbonization and commercialization strategies. He sees sustainability as a business necessity -- table stakes for countries and companies looking to be competitive in a resource-constrained world. He views sustainability, not only as a societal necessity, but one that is consistent with future business prosperity.
Tom has spoken at TED’s Global Countdown Launch, Aspen Institute’s Ideas Festival, the Tom Tom Festival, The Economist Sustainability Summit, Cleantech100, and with CNN, CNBC, the BBC, the New York Times, the Financial Times, Bloomberg, and many more.
