About me
Stephen believes that innovation thrives when creativity meets strategy, and is passionate about helping others navigate the journey from inspiration to invention. Whether through education, outreach, or hands-on workshops, his goal is to empower others to embrace intellectual property as a tool for progress and transformation.
Growing up in a small country school in Northern Virginia, he was fortunate to have a physics professor, Mr. Gibbs, who not only listened to his ideas for inventions but encouraged him to pursue engineering. That spark led him to Cornell University, where he earned a degree in Materials Science and Engineering, deepening his passion for innovation and problem-solving. For over 15 years, Stephen has worked as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, specializing in fuel cells and battery technology. In this role, he had the privilege of analyzing cutting-edge advancements while ensuring that inventors receive the intellectual property protection they deserve. Beyond examination, he has served as an outreach specialist, connecting with audiences to share the power of intellectual property protections that turn ideas into reality.
