About me
Hertel is an engineer working in Equinor’s graduate program in renewables, where he applies his commercial and technical expertise to advance the energy transition. As part of this program, he is gaining hands-on experience through multiple rotations across Equinor’s diverse portfolio. This includes working with East Point Energy, a battery storage development firm in Charlottesville, as well as Empire Wind, an offshore wind project connecting to the grid in New York City. Hertel holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and has experience in the developing world, where he conducted research and worked for an environmental non-profit. He currently resides in New York City.
