As the former Executive Director, Monique Adams launched 757 Angels in 2015. 757 Angels has grown to be one of the largest groups in the country, with 140 members/investors who have injected over $95 million of capital into startup and early-stage companies. Capital investment has resulted in the creation of over 1,000 high-paying jobs. Through 757
Angels’ regional platform, Monique, has local and statewide leadership roles in building and strengthening an inclusive, interconnected, and impactful entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Monique was also the Managing Director of 757 Collab, the parent of 757 Accelerate, 757 Angels, and 757 Startup Studios. She retired in June 2024 and currently serves on the boards of the Virginia Innovation Partnership Authority (VIPA), Hampton Roads Biomedical Consortium (HRBRC), RVA/757 Connects, and the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation (ODAF). Monique also serves on the Preliminary Management and Oversight Panel (PMOP) of the Virginia BioSciences Health Research Consortium (d/b/a Virginia Catalyst). Monique was named to the "Inside Business Power List," Virginia Business’ “Virginia 500”, and recognized as a 2017 Women in Business award recipient. She was a 2019 inductee into the Junior Achievement Hampton Roads Business Hall of Fame.
An extensive background in financial services marks Monique's professional journey. She has held senior finance positions at both the predecessors of Bank of America in Norfolk and JP Morgan Chase in New York City and Los Angeles. This wealth of experience underscores her financial acumen and strategic thinking.
