About me
Julie opened Peace Frogs Travel/Outfitters in 1993 after a year spent travelling in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. As a University of Virginia graduate, returning to Charlottesville was a top priority. For the last 32 years, Julie has spent her days creating custom-designed travel experiences for her clients to locations around the world. In addition, her store is designed to gear up travelers for any type of adventure, with a curated selection of travel products. Julie and her team also lead packing demonstrations and classes, helping make travel simpler and more enjoyable for their customers.
Julie’s commitment to the community can be found in a number of annual giving events, including a coat drive to support International Neighbors and a luggage swap to support Shelter for Help and Emergency and The Haven. She is a board member of Blue Trunk Foundation, a group striving to make travel more accessible for everybody. In 2016, Julie founded a group called the Charlottesville Women's Travel Alliance (recently renamed Women & the World) to support and encourage women who enjoy travel.
