Before Chordia, Joel founded Matchbox, a conversational AI company that built interactive voice experiences for smart speakers. Matchbox scaled to millions of users and exited in a multi-million dollar acquisition. He was named Voice AI Developer of the Year in 2020 and briefly retired after the sale — emphasis on briefly — before jumping back in to build again.
