About me
Emily Irvine is the City of Charlottesville’s Climate Program Manager. She oversees implementation of the City’s Climate Action Plan, which is focused on emissions reduction, and is leading Charlottesville’s climate adaptation and resilience planning effort. The City’s Climate Program works to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change both within the City Organization and in the wider community. Emily holds a Master of Natural Resources with a focus on Leadership for Sustainability from the Virginia Tech Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability. A native of Albemarle County, Emily has lived in the City of Charlottesville for more than a decade and is deeply dedicated to helping build a climate-ready community. She is Mom to two awesome kids and loves walking in the woods, loud live music, backyard chickens, and carbon pricing.
