About me
Cyndi Richardson works for On Our Own as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, PATH (Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness) Liaison and Quality Data Manager. Cyndi serves as Chair for the Service Provider Council, Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) Instructor and assists with PACEM Staff. Cyndi has received the Distinguished Dozen of Charlottesville, Life Savers of Charlottesville and the Fred Frese Lived Experience Awards. Ms. Richardson received the CIT Year of the Peer Award, as well as the Region One Year of the Peer Award. Cyndi is also the recipient of a Joint Resolution from Senator Creigh Deeds, now known as Resolution 677, and a subsequent City of Charlottesville Proclamation recognizing the achievement.
Known throughout the community as a motivational speaker for those that find themselves voiceless, Cyndi speaks at various community and statewide events passionately while being of service to others and making a difference in the lives of individuals who are traditionally overlooked in society. Her well-honed skills of empowering people to pursue their best quality of life is exemplified in her motto, “ The first shall become last, and the last shall become first”.
As a person with 17 years of recovery, Cyndi reminds those to never give up seeking a better quality of life that all deserve. Cyndi credits her accomplishments directly from her deep faith and loving parents.
