Conner grew up in Charlottesville. He graduated from the city public school system and UVa where he studied computer music and creative technology. He received his MFA in California in 2010, and studied Computer Science at Georgia Tech.
He has patented numerous human computer interface devices and his creative work has been shown internationally, including at NIME in Korea, AntropoFest in Prague, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and the ADC Theatre in Cambridge, England.
His recent work with Sensible Robotics (based in Berkeley) focuses on robotic and prosthetic tactile sensing solutions for humanoids and humans. In 2024 he founded Cicada Grove, an organization dedicated to creating economically sustainable, climate adaptive spaces for thriving and relief.
As a multi-instrumentalist he writes songs and daily sound sketches, enjoys playing soccer, walking his dog, creative coding, tv binges and generally refrains from eating frozen pizza to the best of his ability. His two children bring him ineffable joy.
