About me
Since 1986, Chris Farina has been illuminating the stories of unsung community heroes through his award-winning filmmaking. His work has graced international platforms such as the United Nations, the Pentagon, and Google. Notable films include "World Peace and Other 4th-Grade Achievements," celebrated globally after premiering at SXSW, "The Holistic Life Foundation," a portrayal of youth empowerment in West Baltimore, and "Seats at the Table," which shows how students and juvenile center residents connect through literature. Chris’s most recent film, “A Bridge to Life,” is a portrait of an organization that works to change and save the lives of men with serious addiction issues.
Chris is drawn to telling the stories of individuals whose profound contributions to their community have often gone unnoticed, thereby expanding his audience’s notion of what it means to be human. His work is guided by the principle of respect for the individuals portrayed, allowing them to tell the stories of their lives and their community.
In 2022, Chris was diagnosed with ALS, which has complicated his filmmaking and distribution process.
He is based in Charlottesville, Virginia.
