About me
Cameron's path to Poppy actually started in the basement of The White House. She had a great job, but was longing for more creativity in her life and so she started volunteering in The White House Flower Shop, learning floral design from Chief Floral Designer, Laura Dowling.
Igniting a love for floral design, Cameron went all in. She left her job to join a major floral startup, and spent the next 4 years helping them scale to become one of the largest e-commerce floral gifting companies in the country.
During this time, Cameron got engaged. As she dove head first into designing and planning the florals for her own wedding, she was taken aback by how outdated the supply chain was for wedding flowers. Getting wedding flowers was so much more expensive and so much more frustrating than it should be. Ordering was hard, information about what to expect was limited, minimums were high and everything was really expensive. Cameron saved so much money by choosing to order directly from farms and she met so many talented independent floral designers in the process of bringing her wedding vision to life.
Cameron realized that she could share this cost savings and flexibility with others. Based on the structure she used to design her own wedding, Cameron created a company with the mission to make the floral elements for weddings and events simpler and more cost effective, all without compromising on incredible designs.
And so Poppy was born.
