About me
Brian Kayser is the Director of Education and Research for the Society for Effectual Action. Alongside Dr. Saras Sarasvathy, Brian designed and assisted teachers in implementing a free, culturally relevant and linguistically responsive entrepreneurship education that guides students to use principles of entrepreneurship to design ventures and social enterprises that center equity and economic justice. This curriculum will be piloted in Charlottesville, schools throughout the U.S., and in Ghana and Malaysia during the 2024-25 school year. In 2018, Brian co-founded, alongside his former students, the non-profit Cville 1st Gen, a program designed to support first-generation college students in their transition to college. Brian earned his Ed.D from the University of Virginia’s School of Education and Human Development with an emphasis on culturally responsive education. He has 10 years of middle and high school teaching experience in Albemarle County Public Schools and Charlottesville City Schools. Brian also teaches at California State University, Fullerton in the Elementary and Bilingual Education, Secondary Education, and African American Studies departments.
