Bijoy Kundu, PhD is a manager and co-founder of ID-PET LLC, which was formed in February 2024. Dr. Kundu is an associate professor in the departments of Radiology and Medical Imaging and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia (UVA). Dr. Kundu is an expert in developing advanced Positron Emission Tomography (PET) image analytics and deep learning strategies for evaluating functional brain abnormalities in humans including temporal lobe epilepsy, brain cancer, concussion and pain. Dr. Kundu runs a lab in UVA and has advised a number of post-doctoral associates, doctoral, medical and undergraduate students over a career spanning more than 15 years with funding from the National Institutes of Health and several foundations and agencies including recent funding from the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (commonwealth commercialization funds).
