The mission of Ix Art Park Foundation is: To spark creativity and inspiration in people’s everyday lives.
Ix Art Park seeks to empower its community through curating welcoming spaces that allow everyone in the community a safe and engaging environment to exist creatively.
The Foundation manages a 24-hour free mural and sculpture art park, and The Looking Glass, Virginia’s first permanent immersive art experience which celebrates and employs over 20 local and regional artists. We continue to add to the exhibit space, and it is our goal to offer at least three commissions a year to new work by emerging artists. This exhibit explores the visual arts in a new and innovative way including interactive exhibits, using sound and light expressions to activate the imagination. We also offer arts education programs for underserved youth, creative empowerment programs for the whole community, and pride ourselves on a robust community and festival event calendar which includes weekly markets celebrating local artists, women in business, and BIPOC entrepreneurs. We strive to have all our programming welcome everyone in the community and represent many different cultural voices that are often overlooked. We continue to maintain and curate the mural and sculpture environment that make the outdoor piazza a visually captivating space that can serve as a passive art park or come to life more fully during many community events held throughout the year.
