About me
Equal Justice USA is a national nonprofit working to end the death penalty, promote restorative justice, and support community safety efforts to be trauma-informed, racially equitable, and community-driven. We believe that justice is not punishment but is safety, healing, and accountability that repairs. Our criminal legal system responds to harm with punishment, police, and prisons. We work to respond to harm with a posture of healing, healing that addresses the needs of all parties involved -- both individual and systemic needs.
