Join the Beloved Community Tours team for an engaging and eye-opening journey through Charlottesville’s history. This 60-minute program will feature a curated selection of five short documentary films, each shedding light on often-overlooked or unknown local stories. Following each screening, speakers with personal and historical ties to these narratives will share their insights, deepening our understanding of the past and its impact on the present. The event will conclude with a Q&A session, providing attendees the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue.

Through this program, attendees will gain a deeper awareness of Charlottesville’s rich and complex history and leave with a curiosity to explore more. Participants will also be introduced to the Beloved Community Tours website—a free online learning resource designed to make inclusive local history accessible to all. Hosted in partnership with the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society, this event aims to foster a more informed and equitable community by expanding historical awareness.
