Literacy Volunteers provides free, confidential one-to-one literacy and citizenship tutoring for adults in the community. This informative session, held in our classroom at the Jefferson School City Center, will highlight the profound impact of low literacy on individuals and explore the shifting demographics of our students, particularly the immigrants and refugees we serve. Attendees will gain insight into how improved literacy can transform lives and contribute to the broader Charlottesville community.
The session will also showcase the vital role of our volunteer tutors, who work one-on-one with students to build essential literacy skills. Those interested in making a difference will have the opportunity to learn more about becoming a tutor and supporting this life-changing initiative. Join us to discover how literacy empowerment strengthens both individuals and the community as a whole.
