Farmers Markets are great examples of community and entrepreneurs working together. As a local, producer-only farmers market, each vendor at the Farmers Market at Ix is an entrepreneur, growing, making, baking or producing their own products. The management is provided by the nonprofit Market Central and the ambiance comes from the Ix Art Park. With the public as the third partner, we all work together to create a public market that supports local farms, food and arts, in return for healthy food, a boost in our economy, better environmental outcomes, and the social camaraderie associated with sharing food and culture.
On April 20, take part in the Market at Ix Scavenger Hunt to find specific vendors and their products as examples of entrepreneurs who enrich the community with special foods and art while creating self- supporting jobs.
